Here We Go Again

After 3 years of doing 365 Daily Challenges and 5 years or doing 52Frames weekly challenges, it's a new year and another decision to make.
What will I do in 2024?
My partner, Brad, has asked me more than once to put together a project of my own: something united by a theme, that speaks to politics or social issues or some such.
I like the idea, I just don't know what I want to say.
I mostly like photography for the beauty it can capture. I like the way I see the world and I like how photography shares that with others. I like seeing men in their underwear and less.
And then it hit me:
Maybe what I can do is take a page from Paul Morris who used to do these very sexy photos of very hot men in San Francisco, but he'd also tell their stories. He'd write about the feeling of being in the room with them, he'd write of how they were (mostly) straight and down-on-their-luck and were posing for him out of desperation many times.
But the image and the stories would be beautiful.
A bit like Humans of New York, but kinky.
So I'm going to try that this year.
I'm still going to continue with 52Frames, but I am going to add a layer to my own work where I tell the story of the models I photograph.
Why they answered my call and why they want to show off for strangers.
It might just make an interesting collection of tales.
