Breaking Rules

It always comes back to rules.
And whether one should follow them, or break them.
It's one of the fundamental concepts I teach my students, and one I generally follow, but there is a lot of pushback from artists these days to break the rules.
I don't mind breaking them, but breaking the rules JUST to break the rules doesn't always produce good art.
There has to be more.
A reason.
A reason to break the rules.
I am not sure what I'll photograph this week - could try my hand at a still life, since it's not been easy to find suitable models much lately. Covid really has done a number on both my willingness to let strangers into my home and the effort I put into finding a stranger to let into my home.
I'm guessing they're related concepts.
